now that we’ve got the right set up for bass sounds, ben is starting in on ‘elemental’ and i am perusing the hounds hollow library.  many interesting books on all kinds of topics – we have trail books, classics by hemingway, sinclair, & fitzgerald, and a few other little gems like this one:

apparently ms. landers is under the mistaken impression that a modern girl like myself would like to know “what to do with my spare time, how to make myself as attractive as possible, happier & more popular.” on top of all that, “how to fix my hair, make curtains, & hints on dancing”. hmmmm…

(not sure if he is an egomaniacal loon yet; it’s still a possibility.  i’d like to believe his change of heart, but he still has some journalistic ethics issues that remain unresolved even as he apologizes for them)

one of the greatest things about being here is the windows – you can at least know where you are in time.  sometimes you can go a little crazy in practice spaces & studios with no windows, you go in when it’s light and come out into the darkness and have absolutely no sense of the day.

i found this book in the living room, and now i am starting to wonder: am i a hippie?
