All about Static of the Gods: Post Details

well, we’re in a very interesting position/time right now. all 17 songs we started recording at Hounds Hollow in April (it seems so long ago…) have taken shape into full-fledged songs. final mixes are being listened to everyday, tweaking something here or there. but for the most part, we all can really hear where each song is going. everything’s sounding great, we are all really proud of these songs, now’s the tough part…

it’s time to pick what songs get to go on the record. we need to pick 10 or 11 songs to move forward with. this is a tough, tough task; considering we started off recording 17 songs. last night we brought it down to 14 songs, which is a step in the right direction.

a lot goes into which 10 or 11 songs make it onto the record. it’s not just which songs are our favorites, each song has to really help make the album the best album we can make. cohesiveness is important, among other things.

i guess you could say we’re in the home stretch now. more time on our hands means more time to post. i know i’ve said it before, but this time i really mean it
